Our Staff

All of our teachers are professional dancers who have a passion for dance, and for teaching others to dance. In addition to being highly accomplished in their fields, they are also energetic, positive and caring people. 

Missy Lisa

Missy Lisa is an award winning showgirl, instructor and entrepreneur. She is the founder of burlesque super troupe, The Ruby Revue, creator of the very successful Dallas Burlesque Festival and Houston Burlesque Festival is also the owner of the Ruby Room studio, Dallas’ premiere alternative dance studio. Seductive and talented, Missy Lisa’s diverse acts have earned her fans from coast to coast. She was crowned “Miss Viva Las Vegas” in 2013, won “Most Classic” at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in 2014 and was named one of the Top 20 Burlesque Performers in the World by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine. Missy Lisa continues to perform every month with The Ruby Revue at the House of Blues Dallas and Houston and she regularly performs in New York City and tours nationwide.

Layla Stardust

Layla began her dance journey in 1991 at the age of 5, and started competing at the age of 6. She has studied, and competed in, tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop, clogging, and modern dance, among other genres. She was a member of the “Encore! Elite Dance Company” for over ten years, and attended Dallas’ Arts magnet school, “Booker T. Washington, High School for the Visual and Performing Arts” for dance, under the direction of Lily Cabatu Weiss. Layla joined the Ruby Room studio in 2013, and is currently teaching all levels in tap, jazz, ballet and burlesque, and is also serving as assistant artistic director for The Ruby Revue and company manager for the Ruby Room Studio Dance Company.

Lily Liqueur

Lily Liqueur has been leaving audiences shaken & stirred since she shimmed her way into the scene in 2010. She has performed in numerous burlesque festivals as well as toured the first George R.R. Martin approved Game of Thrones burlesque tour as The Mother of Dragons. Starting the burlesque scene in Norfolk, Va she helped to teach and spread the love of body confidence and neo-classic burlesque. Last year she moved to Dallas, TX to continue and further her career with The Ruby Revue. Currently she works at the Ruby Room studio and continues performing all over the country! Come get a sip of this tall drink of tease!

Dorian J Collier

Dorian "Dojo" Collier, a native of St. Louis MO, began his career as a choreographer after founding the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Showstoppers Dance Organization in 2001.  Through this, Dorian was afforded the opportunity to appear on the BET Spring Bling, and choreograph openings for artists and comedians such as Yang Yang Twins, Ne-Yo, Bobby Valentino, Avant, and Ricky Smiley.  In 2005, he was elected to be the choreographer for the national award winning production entitled "Hip Hop Project," which received the American College Theater Festival Award for Best Choreography.  Dorian relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas where he was hired as a competitive dance instructor for Sharon's School of Dance, Dancetastics Studio, and served as Dance Team Manager for the Arkansas Rhinos and Arkansas Rivercatz Dance Teams.  Dorian currently works to develop several local recording artists and recently launched his own production company and apparel brand.  He continues to remain humble, focused, and consistent on improving his craft and achieving his aspirations.

Ungela James

Ungela James is a native from Little Rock, AR who recently moved to Dallas, TX. Ungela has been dancing non-stop for over 20 years. She has trained under wonderful teachers and artists such as, Jennifer Maddox, Iyun Harrison, Cecil Slaughter, Bill Hastings, and just recently Missy Lisa. Ungela has been trained in jazz, modern, hip hop, ballet, and burlesque dance. She specializes in Pom routines for teams, fitness classes and private lessons for various styles.

Sam Vazquez

Sam Vazquez is the Ruby Room Studio Manager and Co-Captain of the Ruby Revue.  Sam has over 20 years of dance experience, having studied at several studios as well as attended Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance from The University of Texas at Austin. Her dance background includes ballet, contemporary, jazz, and tap. Throughout her career, Sam has had the pleasure of competing with nationally ranked dance companies, performing in international dance conferences in Greece and Austria, and even delighting audiences in the middle of the ocean with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines!
